Student Testimonials
The amount of face-to-face and practical experiential learning with horses was paramount for me, and EATA seemed to be the only RTO that could provide that. Working with real client volunteers was a highlight of the course. I was able to lean into my learning, as well as my intuition, but I was guided and supported with a safety net for both the participant and myself.
2023 EATA Graduate Natasha WhitwellI was looking for a robust, evidence-based approach to support trauma-sensitive clients in a meaningful, embodied way that integrates healing for sustained recovery. This course offers a solid, trauma-informed, polyvagal-aware framework that brings together relational horsemanship, somatic principles and therapeutic integrity. It supports practitioner self-discovery and growth, from an embodied and theoretical perspective, so we are more rounded and whole.
2025 EATA Graduate, Sarah CamilleWhen Equine Assisted Therapy Australia (EATA) launched a cohort in New South Wales in 2021, I seized the opportunity to follow my passion for healing through horses. Initially, I explored shorter and less expensive courses but ultimately chose EATA for its professional framework and comprehensive approach. The EATA environment was welcoming and supportive and provided me with the strength to embrace change and transition to a healthier work environment.
2023 EATA Graduate, Genean BeetsonI wanted to help others in the same way my horse helped me. So, I researched Equine Assisted Therapy and found EATA to be the most reputable course provider. One key thing that stood out for me from doing EATA’s course is the greater and deeper connection and understanding I now have with horses.“ I am really enjoying this work and find it really satisfying to be helping others whilst spending everyday with my beautiful animals.
2024 EATA Graduate,Tania CarnsI came into the course thinking I was going to be a great counsellor, but I’ve had to do a lot of work on myself. The course content can be pretty deep, but it’s good because you have to work on your own triggers, before you are able to help other people. I also wasn’t aware how similar a horse’s nervous system is to ours.
2025 EATA Graduate, Sue Sellar
